Brown blames EU for fragile economic recovery

Slow growth in Europe lies at the heart of the problems facing the world economy, UK chancellor Gordon Brown declared on Thursday.

In a provocative article in the Financial Times, in which he warns that the global recovery remains fragile, the chancellor says the US is not solely to blame for running up a current account deficit.
