Manufacturing upturn likely to emerge

Growing evidence that the recession is ending in this week’s data releases will be counterbalanced by caution from policymakers as the path to recovery faces major policy challenges in the world’s largest economies.

The preliminary estimates for September’s eurozone purchasing managers surveys, due out on Wednesday, could show activity expanding in both manufacturing and service-sector industries in September for the first time since the recession began.
