Migrants hurt by crisis, UN warns

The global financial crisis could wipe out jobs and incomes of millions of the world’s migrant workers, and worsen poverty in some of the world’s poorest countries, according to the United Nations chief and migration experts.

“Already, migration flows are reversing. In several instances, we are seeing a net outflow from countries facing economic crises,” UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon told a global forum on migration and development in Manila on Wednesday.
