New world order confronts leaders

As the leaders of the world’s eight supposedly most powerful economies are helicoptered in to their lakeside hotel in Hokkaido to discuss the state of the planet, it might occur to at least the more humble of them how little power they really wield.

Even the strongest nations are being buffeted by forces that individual leaders cannot control and that can only be tamed, if they can be tamed at all, at a truly international level.
