Domino’s up as consumers trade down

Increasing numbers of cost-conscious consumers opting to stay at home and order takeaways rather than eat out have helped Domino’s Pizza boost underlying first-half profit by a third.

The UK’s largest pizza home delivery chain became the latest company to claim it had benefited from the “Aldi effect”, as belt-tightening Britons search for cheaper alternatives to their regular consumption.
