Petrel hit by Iraq contracts rumours

Shares of Petrel Resources, the oil exploration company, tumbled more than 50 per cent on fears it had lost out on two contracts in Iraq.

Reports said the Khurmala oilfield development contract had been awarded to a Turkish company and a similar contract at Hamrin had been awarded to a Canadian group.
