RWE claims bid for Enea too expensive

RWE, the German utility, on Wednesday said it would not bid for Enea, claiming a controlling stake in the state-owned Polish energy company was too expensive.

The Polish treasury ministry in August began exclusive talks with RWE over the sale of a 67 per cent stake in Enea – worth around €1.5bn at Wednesday’s close.
