France Telecom on Monday tried to keep alive its $41.2bn informal takeover offer for TeliaSonera, telling the Swedish-Finnish telecommunications company it could have more time to consider the proposal.
France’s former fixed-line phone monopoly gave the Nordic group a deadline of this Thursday when it unveiled its offer on June 5, adding that it would walk away if TeliaSonera’s board showed no sign of interest in talks.
