From Prof Avinash D. Persaud.
Sir, If I want a level-headed assessment of the news, I first turn to the Financial Times. I have therefore been puzzled to see Clive Crook (“McCain’s gamble on Palin is shrewd”, September 1) and Chrystia Freeland (“Sarah Palin is a true feminist role model”, September 3) writing about John McCain’s choice of Sarah Palin as his running mate for the US presidency and yet paying so little attention to her view that creationism should be taught alongside evolution in school biology classes. It seems to me that this tells us more than anything else about her capacity for considered judgment.
