Virgin Media and BSkyB call truce

Virgin Media and British Sky Broadcasting declared an end to hostilities on Tuesday in their dispute over the price of carrying the so-called Sky Basics channels on its cable platform.

The dispute has been going on since March 2007, costing both companies millions of pounds, although details of the financial arrangements of the settlement have been kept confidential. The case was seen by analysts as a drag on both companies.
