Dow Chemical in talks with Reliance

Dow Chemical is in talks with Reliance Industries, India's largest listed company, over a joint venture that would enable the US chemical giant to reduce its exposure to commodity products and gain access to cheaper raw materials.

The discussions with Dow underline Reliance's desire to win access to global markets by forging partnerships with large western companies lured by India's rapidly growing economy and its vast pool of cheap, skilled labour.
