Singh risks position to secure energy deal

When Manmohan Singh, India’s prime minister, arrives in Hokkaido to attend the Group of Eight meeting, he will not be the only leader there facing serious problems at home.

But he can certainly boast that his are among the most pressing of anyone present. In fact, if some of his domestic political foes have their way, he might be on his way out of a job even before he gets home.
