New products help boost Shire revenues

A doubling of new product sales has helped boost revenues at Shire, as the drugmaker prepares for a drop-off in earnings from Adderall, which treats attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

Drugs released within the past three years made up $1bn of sales in 2008, or one-third of Shire’s total revenues.
