Spanish heiress faces €10m loss

Among those Spaniards affected by the alleged fraud case involving Bernard Madoff, was Alicia Koplowitz, a construction heiress and one of the world's richest women. Omega Capital, Ms Koplowitz's investment firm in Madrid, said she may have lost about €10m ($14.3m) - which amounts to 0.2 per cent of her $5.2bn wealth - invested with Mr Madoff, mainly through the Ireland-based Laredo fund of funds in which she has a stake.
