The Russian state-owned energy giant Gazprom is eyeing a $2bn gas investment in Bolivia, sources familiar with the negotiations said.

"We are closing negotiations with Gazprom in two sites for gas exploration. They are very interested. And we are very interested in them being our partners," Carlos Villegas, Bolivian hydrocarbons minister, said.
