Bullish outlook for agriculture funds

Investor demand for access to agricultural commodities forced Schroders to close its $5bn (£2.5bn, €3.2bn) Luxembourg-based Agriculture Fund to new investors in February.

Other asset managers have been quick to respond, rushing out a spate of new funds that focus on a range of agriculture-related assets in search of opportunities that are still relatively cheap despite the sharp rise in the price of staples such as rice.
