BBC Worldwide offers deal to C4

BBC Worldwide, commercial arm of the BBC, has proposed a slimmed down version of its planned joint venture with Channel 4, but a deal remains tantalisingly out of reach, people familiar with the negotiations said on Friday.

In its new form, the deal will involve merging only UKTV, the company BBCW currently owns jointly with Virgin Media, and the advertising sales house of C4.
