Brussels set to issue proposal on derivatives

Proposals to improve supervision of the derivatives industry and deal with bank crises are due to be outlined by European Union officials next week.

But the current European Commission – whose mandate formally expires at the end of October – will not come forward with legislative proposals introducing either so-called “leverage ratios” or dynamic provisioning for European banks at this stage.
