Andy Baddeley gave British athletics fans a sight they have not seen in a very long time, a superb tactical victory by a home runner in a world-class 1,500 metres.

It happened at the IAAF Super Grand Prix at Sheffield's Don Valley Stadium last night, and the 25-year-old from Harrow not only ran away from a world-class field in the finishing straight, he took close to two seconds off his personal best - with three minutes 34.74 seconds - making it easily the best run of Baddeley's career.
