Macquarie Group has made the latest in a string of high-profile international hires after naming Sam Small as head of its European mergers and acquisition business on Tuesday.
It comes as the Australian investment bank is strengthening its Asia, US and European advisory capability and follows the group’s recent acquisition spree, including last month’s agreement to buy Fox-Pitt Cochran Caronia Waller, a US boutique bank, for up to US$147m including debt.
