Crunch hits funds for UK schools revamp

The multi-billion pound programme to revamp every state secondary school in England is facing further delays caused by the credit crunch, say construction industry leaders.

The Building Schools for Future programme has already experienced several years of slow progress since it began in 2004. So far only 50 schools have been rebuilt or refurbished out of England’s 3,500.
