London mayor set to ban old black cabs

Boris Johnson, London mayor, is planning to ban taxis that are more than 10 years old from the capital’s streets in an attempt to curb air pollution .

The proposal, likely to anger London’s taxi drivers and force hundreds to buy new cabs earlier than expected, will be revealed on Monday in the mayor’s draft air quality strategy.
