Topps Tiles attacks withdrawal of credit insurance

Topps Tiles shares fell almost 12 per cent on Tuesday after its chief executive announced that one of its credit insurers had withdrawn cover.

Breaking with the tradition of keeping such negotiations firmly behind closed doors, Matthew Williams, in an effort to “control the information”, released a statement saying that one of the big three credit insurers – believed to be Euler Hermes – had withdrawn cover to suppliers of the specialist retail chain.
