Telecom Italia prepares to knuckle down

Telecom Italia gave a frank assessment of how long a revival in its fortunes would take – and was met with a sell-off in the group’s shares.

Italy’s dominant telecoms operator has endured 18 months of turmoil in which it has had four chairmen, a change in the controlling group of shareholders and a withering market capitalisation.
