Rapid Asian growth tempts Providence

Providence Equity Partners will on Monday become the latest US private equity firm to expand in Asia when it announces plans to hire Rothschild’s top banker in the region and open new offices in Hong Kong and New Delhi.

The move comes as Providence is raising a new global fund worth as much as $12bn for investments in media and telecoms companies on the back of a successful record in the US and Europe.
