Indonesia predicts inflation will fall

Indonesia’s central bank governor predicted yesterday that year-on-year inflation will start dropping this month from a 21-month high of 11.03 per cent and could fall to 6.5 per cent by the end of next year if no further shocks buffet the economy.

Inflation has spiked since the government raised prices for subsidised fuel by 28.7 per cent in May in the wake of soaring global oil prices.
