UK business falls victim to surge in cyber crime attacks

At least one in 10 large UK businesses have had their computer systems broken into by cybercriminals looking to steal confidential information, according to a British government report.

About 13 per cent of large companies have detected unauthorised outsiders in their networks, a dramatic rise from just 1 per cent two years ago, according to the study by the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform, which will be published today at the Info-security Europe show in London.
