Merkel pushes for German economic reform

Germany has much to learn about tax reform from central European countries and about labour market flexibility from Britain, according to the leading candidate to become the country's next chancellor.

In an interview with the Financial Times, Angela Merkel, leader of the Christian Democrat Union, on Wednesday issued a clarion call for economic reform in Europe based on countries borrowing successful policies from one another.
