The Dutch finance minister has signalled possible interest in reconstructing ABN Amro by buying back some of its businesses from Royal Bank of Scotland.

Wouter Bos told Dutch television that ABN’s retail banking business in the Netherlands, which was nationalised last autumn, could profit by buying back parts of RBS.
