Sir, Jonathan Davis thinks it “worth making the point that John Maynard Keynes had originally been a proponent of the Gold Standard before changing his mind as the 1920s unfolded” (“Lords of finance, culprits of crisis”, The Last Word, FTfm, November 9). Surely this is not so?
