Kosovo points to enough votes to join IMF

Kosovo said yesterday it has gained enough votes to join the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a benchmark of economic credibility that would reassure investors and unlock hundreds of millions of euros more in economic aid.

The new Balkan state, which won attention worldwide by declaring independence early last year, narrowly overcame calls for abstentions by Serbia and Russia.
