Scotland Yard ordered a review of tactics used to police public demonstrations amid growing criticism of the force used by some officers at this month’s G20 summit protests.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission is already investigating two separate allegations of assault – one involving newspaper seller Ian Tomlinson shortly before he died and another involving a woman attending a memorial protest for the vendor the day after his death.
