BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto, the Anglo-Australian miners, said iron ore shipments to China had not been disrupted in spite of a warning from one of Australia’s smaller miners that Chinese customers had asked for shipments to be delayed.
Shares in Mount Gibson Iron, the Australian iron ore producer, dropped 24 per cent to 87.5 cents after it said a number of customers had requested shipments be delayed into next year.
