German groups look at SE status

At least two more German blue-chips are considering following the lead taken by insurance group Allianz last month when it announced plans to convert its status to a Societas Europaea (SE), or European Company.

SAP and DaimlerChrysler told the FT they were mulling a possible changeover, drawn by possible tax advantages and the flexibility that SEs offered in terms of corporate governance and cross-border acquisitions.
