Ex-HBOS chief Andy Hornby forgoes extra pension

Andy Hornby, former chief executive of HBOS, has given up additional pension payments worth hundreds of thousands of pounds in an effort to escape a public hounding similar to that given to Sir Fred Goodwin, his former rival at Royal Bank of Scotland.

The decision was revealed in a letter sent by Lloyds Banking Group to the Commons Treasury select committee last week setting out pension arrangements for departing HBOS directors.
