Kofi Annan, UN secretary general is to visit the region at the weekend in a bid to ensure the full implementation of the UN ceasefire Resolution1701 that ended the war.

Stephane Dujarric, his spokesman, said on Wednesday night that Annan would visit Hizbollah's main sponsors Syria and Iran, as well as Israel and Lebanon, “to make sure that all those who have an influence in the implementation of 1701 use that influence positively."
