Hedge fund failures at record level

A record number of hedge funds were liquidated in the third quarter, as the business faces the worst crisis in its history.

Hedge funds have become deeply embroiled in the global financial turmoil in recent months, with many suspending redemptions, telling investors that they cannot immediately access their money, in an effort to stem the outflow of assets.
