A few years ago, decent lawyers were few and far between. Companies complained bitterly about backlogs in hiring and retaining decent briefs as the oil-driven investment led to a sharp rise in the number of financial deals and projects.
The market in the regional business hub of Dubai, for example, had been represented by a handful of largely British firms – Clyde & Co; Denton Wilde Sapte, Trowers & Hamlins, Allen & Overy; Clifford Chance – as well as local firms.
