Crocs loses its footing amid weak economy

Faddish footwear on Friday looked set to be the latest victim of the slumping economy as investors dumped shares in Crocs, a maker of plastic sandals.

Shares in the US company, whose brightly coloured clogs have drawn plaudits from punters and ire from fashion critics, plunged almost 45 per cent on Friday to $4.99, a day after it issued the latest in a string of disappointing trading updates.
