Euro slumps to six-month low

The euro fell to a six-month low on Tuesday, as a German business confidence survey posted its worst results in three years and official figures showed the country’s economy contracted in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, the dollar index touched its highest level this year as the US currency continued its recent rally.
