Sir, Your article "The lobbyists that have taken Brussels by storm" (January 19) raises some important questions but gives a misleading impression about the ability of the European parliament to deal with the phenomenon. Lobbying is part of the democratic process and something to which parliamentarians are accustomed. Their ability to separate the wheat from the chaff should not be underestimated.
