Toyota changes the rules of PR buzz

Toyota had the motor industry in a tizz this week.

Carmakers have become adept at lifting the veil on their new models ever so slowly in order to squeeze out every possible drop of publicity. The tease can go on for as long as three or four years, starting with a concept design, then moving on to a shot of a fender here and a grille there before the entire vehicle finally makes an appearance.
