Blast rocks Syrian capital

An explosion in the Syrian capital Damascus on Saturday claimed the lives of at least 17 people and wounded 14 others, according to the authorities. Security sources said that the blast was caused by a car packed with 200 kilograms of explosives.

Syria’s Interior Minister General Bassam Abdel Majid, called the explosion a terrorist act but said it was too early to tell who was responsible.
