Dutch told to keep birds indoors over fear of flu

Dutch farmers are being ordered to keep poultry indoors in the toughest measures yet imposed by a European Union country against bird flu.

The moves come amid fears that the disease, which can be fatal in humans, could ravage the Netherlands’ poultry industry if the virus spreads from Russia to Europe.
