Friends Provident ditches plan to sell Lombard

Friends Provident will hold on to Lombard, its European wealth management arm, after no agreement was reached with buyers for the business, the insurer announced on Friday.

Friends had been in talks with CVC, the private equity group, about selling Lombard, but they did not strike a deal and the company announced it would instead retain the business.
