Cherie set to be first Blair in the bookshop

Tony Blair says he has finally started writing his £5m ($9.8m) memoirs more than six months after leaving office, but the first acerbic account of his Downing Street years looks certain to come from his wife, Cherie.

Allies of the former prime minister reported before Christmas that Mr Blair was having trouble settling down to write his memoirs, which were bought up by Random House after a bidding war.
