R&D tax credit increase welcomed

A more generous tax credit for research and development spending will be worth an extra £100m a year to industry, the chancellor said.

The R&D tax credit rate will rise from 150 per cent to 175 per cent for small companies and from 125 per cent to 130 per cent for large companies from April 2008.
