Bulgaria’s legal curbs concern Brussels

Restrictions imposed by Bulgaria on the ability of lawyers from other EU states to practise in the eastern European country could violate EU laws, officials in Brussels said on Thursday.

The European Commission said it had sent a letter of formal notice to Bulgaria – a first step when Brussels is contemplating bringing legal proceedings against a country for breaching EU rules.
