Growth in the number of women on FTSE 100 boards has stalled over the past year, in spite of concern that male domination of the corporate world may have contributed to the global financial crisis.
The proportion of female directors rose fractionally from 11.7 per cent to 12.2 per cent, according to a bellwether report on women in the boardroom – but that was caused solely by an overall shrinkage in the size of boards.
