RWE raises mid-term earnings target

RWE, Germany’s second-biggest utility, on Thursday raised its mid-term earnings target, helping ease concerns that the economic crisis could hurt profitability because of falling electricity demand.

The Essen-based power generator expects operating profit to grow by an average 5 to 10 per cent each year to 2012 rather than the 5 per cent it previously forecast.
